Agus Teja was born in April 1982 and is the youngest of 4 children. He studied Balinese and Contemporary music at Institute Seni Indonesia Denpasar from 2000 till 2004, and is currently seeking to received his mastersn degree in art. From 2003 until 2008, Agus was performed and taught traditional Balinese music, as well as contemporary music all over Bali.

Agus Teja founded Gus Teja word music in 2009 while at this time he created and tuned instrument like the Tingklik Baro (Balinese Bamboo Instrument), Slokr / Selonding Chromatic (Balinese Metal Instrument) and assorted Flute himself. In 2010 he released his first album "Rythm of Paradise". Which has become one of the best selling Album in Bali, and continues to perform in a multitude of music festivals, as the world music festival and the ethnic music festival just to name a few.

Gus Teja World Music is an ethnic music group that blends traditional musical instruments such as slonding, tingklik, drums and flute combined with modern musical instruments like guitar and bass guitars. Gus Teja world music features flutes from around the world, like the Native American Flutes, Ocarina, Shakuhachi, Pan Flute, Hulusi and course the Balinese Flute.
